Job summary

GPAC has been retained by a local electrical contractor to find a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their team in the United States. The role leads the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

You will review specs, perform detailed take-offs, mentor junior estimators, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate bids and compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor.
• Expertise in estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or Conest.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost control.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts with precision.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Stable work history.
• Previous experience in a leadership or senior estimating role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
• Conduct detailed take-offs, ensuring accurate material and labor cost estimates.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Analyze historical cost data and supplier pricing to improve estimating accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to verify project conditions.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing.
• Oversee junior estimators, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Collaborate on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and efficiency.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, industry regulations, and contract requirements.
