Job summary

gpac LLC. is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join a well-established local electrical contractor in the Chicago area.

The ideal candidate will independently manage estimates for a backlog of local commercial and industrial projects, help win new work, and contribute to strategic bid development. The role requires 7+ years of estimating experience, strong knowledge of electrical materials and installation methods, and proficiency with Estimating software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Strong commercial and/or industrial electrical construction background.
• Ability to independently estimate projects from plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labor, and installation methods.
• Experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of local electrical construction and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates for local commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
• Complete detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
• Develop bid strategies and final proposals.
• Work closely with Project Management, Operations, and company leadership.
• Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines.
• Assist with project turnover after successful bids.
