Job summary

Bracco Medical Technologies is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineering Technician to lead the electrical engineering laboratory, manage equipment and workflows, and support detailed hardware development in a regulated setting.

You will work with engineers on debugging, testing, and documentation, including PCB layouts, cable assemblies, and test fixtures, ensuring compliance and high-quality prototypes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering technician experience.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical training.
• Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
• Experience soldering and reworking electronic assemblies.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical/electromechanical systems.
• Experience with documentation, schematics, drawings, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Manage R&D engineering laboratory operations including equipment, supplies, prototypes, tools, and workstations.
• Coordinate calibration activities and service-provider relationships for compliant, operational lab equipment.
• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical prototypes, assemblies, test fixtures, and hardware.
• Coordinate and document prototype rework activities and maintain records.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, and change orders.
• Assist engineers with hardware debugging and electrical testing.
• Create cable assemblies, harnesses and related drawings.
• Maintain inventory and tracking of equipment, tools, and assets.
• Support verification testing, data collection, and test fixture development.
• Design and modify PCB layouts using Altium.

The Sr. Electrical Engineering Technician plays a key role in advancing medical device innovation by supporting the design, development, testing, and sustainment of electrical systems and components. This position serves as the primary steward of the electrical engineering laboratory, ensuring effective management of equipment, prototypes, supplies, and workspaces while providing hands‑on technical support for troubleshooting, prototyping, rework, and documentation activities in a regulated environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage R & D engineering laboratory operations including equipment, supplies, prototype hardware, tools, workstations, and general organization.
• Coordinate equipment calibration activities and manage service provider relationships to ensure laboratory equipment remains compliant, operational, and properly maintained.
• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical prototypes, assemblies, test fixtures, and engineering hardware.
• Coordinate and document engineering prototype rework activities and maintain associated records.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, assembly drawings, cable drawings, Bills of Material, and Change Orders.
• Assist engineers with hardware debugging, root cause investigations, and electrical testing activities.
• Create cable assemblies, harnesses, and related drawing documentation.
• Maintain inventory and tracking of engineering equipment, tools, and prototype assets.
• Support verification testing, data collection, and test fixture development activities.
• Design and modify printed circuit board layouts using Altium.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical training
• 5+ years of electrical engineering technician experience
• Experience using laboratory equipment including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Power supplies, Spectrum analyzers, Logic analyzers
• Experience soldering and reworking electronic assemblies
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• The physical ability to lift and handle items up to 45 lbs.
• Preferred: Medical device product development experience
• Experience working in FDA and ISO regulated environments
• Experience supporting PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers
• Knowledge of embedded electronics, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, and Ethernet systems
• Experience writing test procedures and test reports
• Experience maintaining engineering laboratory equipment and assets
• Experience building engineering prototypes and test fixtures
• Experience with Altium Designer including schematics and layout

Compensation & Total Rewards

Estimated Starting Hourly Rate Range: $35 - $40 hourly

*Estimated salary is intended to reflect the salary Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The provided range is based on salary and market data and may vary based on an employee's eligibility for geographic differential pay in high-cost-of-labor markets.
