Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, seeks a senior Electrical Engineer to lead full cycle PCB design and fuzing system development for missile applications. You will own requirements, schematics, layout, bring‑up, test, and integration, collaborating with vehicle teams to produce rugged interconnects and wire harnesses.

Responsibilities include lab to flight testing, firmware bring‑up, design reviews, vendor assessments, and root cause analysis to support field operations.

Qualifications

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of board design experience.
  • Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
  • Familiar with interfaces Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB.
  • Experience with MCU/CPU/FPGA devices.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle PCB design from requirements to integration and testing.
  • Develop fuzing circuitry for missile systems.
  • Collaborate with vehicle teams to design fuzing systems and interconnects.
  • Define wire harnesses and system interconnect diagrams.
  • Support other air vehicle subsystem development constraints.
  • Perform vendor surveys and component sourcing evaluations.
  • Conduct design reviews and cross‑discipline reviews.
  • Build and test system components in lab, ground, and flight tests.
  • Low‑level firmware development for bring‑up and testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis to support field ops.

What You’ll Do
  • Full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring‑up, test, debug and integration with the system.
  • Development of fuzing circuitry for missile systems.
  • Closely collaborate with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within the vehicle.
  • Provide support and collaborate within other air vehicle subsystem development constraints.
  • Vendor surveys and evaluation to support sourcing for system components.
  • Conduct peer‑level and cross‑discipline design reviews.
  • Build up and test system components through lab, ground, and flight tests.
  • Low level firmware development for bring‑up and test.
  • Root cause analysis in support of field operations.
Required Qualifications
  • BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current‑probes, and automation of tests.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable)
  • Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Ability to travel as required for testing (surges up to 25%).
  • Passion for defending the United States and her allies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret or Top‑Secret or DOE L or Q).
  • 5‑10 years’ work experience as an individual contributing engineer, focused on electrical design, analysis, and testing of fuzing and/or ordnance systems.
  • Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160 and relevant avionics design standards for UAS.
  • Familiarity with electrical component suppliers.
  • Experience in UAS, missiles, or maritime programs.
  • Experience with the DoD Weapons Safety Boards.
  • Experience designing and scaling production of components at volume.
  • Experience developing or testing complex electrical systems.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105.
  • Experience with JOTP-052 and JOTP-054.
  • Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions.
Salary

$146,000 – $194,000 USD.
