Job Summary:

KickStage Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership in the testing, configuration, and commissioning of electrical equipment. This role involves overseeing the preparation of equipment specifications, tender documents, and reviewing designs and tender bids to ensure successful project execution. The position offers the flexibility of remote work, along with occasional travel to project sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the testing, configuration, and commissioning of electrical equipment—including excitation systems, protection relays, PLCs, AC/DC systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and cables.

• Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.

• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues, applying robust technical solutions to meet operational needs.

• Prepare detailed equipment specifications, review design documents, and develop comprehensive tender documents.

• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality standards and performance.

• Develop and implement electrical safety procedures that comply with industry regulations and standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (Electrical) license.

• Over 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in electric utilities and the oil & gas sectors.

• Advanced knowledge of electrical equipment including excitation systems, protection relays, PLCs, AC/DC systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and cables.

• Hands-on experience with products from leading manufacturers such as Alstom, GE, ABB, Basler, Areva, SEL, and Schneider.

• Proven expertise in project management, engineering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

• Demonstrated ability in preparing equipment specifications, reviewing designs, and analyzing tender bids.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA, IEEE, and IEC.

• Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technicians.

• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovative problem solving.
