Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA, is seeking an Electrical Engineer 4 to design and develop advanced electrical systems for deposition equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. You will work on heater control, power delivery, analog/digital electronics, and embedded controls for cutting-edge equipment.

The role requires hands-on circuit design experience, CAD proficiency, and strong analytical skills to drive reliable, high-performance solutions in a fast-moving industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Hands‑on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), signal and controls theory, development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation.
  • Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
  • In depth system level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
  • Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
  • Contributes to research and development efforts for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
  • Develops functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
  • Perform hands‑on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.
