Job summary

Astrion is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the 96th Civil Engineering Group at EGLIN AFB, FL. The role focuses on planning, designing, and overseeing electrical systems across base facilities, with a strong emphasis on power distribution, lighting, and emergency power.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with 10+ years of experience, and holds or can obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Proven experience in design, construction, or maintenance of facility electrical systems, preferably on military installations or in large industrial settings.
In-depth knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, and emergency power (generators, UPS).
Proficiency in CAD software and electrical analysis tools.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and oversee construction and renovation projects for facility electrical systems, ensuring compliance with codes, UFCs, and Air Force standards.
Manage maintenance, repair, and operation of base electrical infrastructure, including high-voltage networks, substations, and emergency generators.
Develop statements of work, prepare cost estimates, and manage projects from inception to completion, inspecting contractor work for compliance.
Analyze power requirements for new and existing facilities, including load calculations and arc flash analyses.
Develop and maintain emergency repair and restoration plans for electrical infrastructure.
