Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering to join our engineering team to support projects across the Rowan project portfolio. The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager is a critical part of the technical team that will help support all aspects of the Rowan approach from site origination through operations of data centers, substations, and power distribution. The key focus for this role will include leading power acceleration strategy, design, and deployment to expedite in service timelines for Rowan critical capacity. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects as a licensed Professional Engineer. The candidate will also have excellent strategic thinking skills, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings, meetings, or to project sites.

Tailors message and medium to the audience, communicating clearly and concisely. Proactively shares information so the right people are informed and aligned. Fosters an effective communication across the team. Helps the department collaborate effectively.
  • Process & Project Leadership – Proactively assesses and optimizes processes to improve team outcomes and help Rowan scale. Understands and acts on the importance of feedback loops, assesses failures in a no-fault environment and ensures processes and documents account for learnings. Accountable for goals and deliverables that are dependent on your own work and the work of other internal and external teams.
Essential Responsibilities
  • The key focus for this role will include leading power acceleration strategy, design, and deployment to expedite in service timelines for Rowan critical capacity.
  • Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes.
  • Lead, direct, and manage consultants in the design, procurement, construction and implementation of power acceleration solutions, substations, data centers, and power distribution infrastructure. Identify risks during all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • As a technical SME, mold design, project scope, schedule, and deliverables to meet client and Rowan requirements for Build-to-Suit and Turnkey projects.
  • Partner with procurement to deliver the equipment required for the success of Rowan projects.
  • Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design, construction, and operations. Review bids for conformance with the requirements of the RFP. Provide clarification on technical requirements.
  • Integrate with the energy team to coordinate with the identified utilities. Act as the technical liaison between the consultant and the utility.
  • Support the growth of the engineering team and of Rowan by helping to establish engineering standards and processes.
  • Demonstrate a customer-centric mentality. Earning, nurturing, and creating trust and relationships with utilities and client technical experts.
  • Mentor the engineering team to grow the teams collective expertise.
  • Support other technical tasks not listed as required.
Education, Skills, And Experience
  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years’ technical experience in relevant industries including power acceleration, generation, industrial, commercial or substation design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJs and utilities.
  • Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of data center industry and trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu.
  • The Rowan team collaborates constantly; however, the successful candidate should be comfortable working independently.
