Job summary

GBA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for Life Sciences facilities in Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO. You will drive electrical design for cleanrooms, manufacturing suites, and labs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and coordinating across disciplines to deliver high-performance facilities.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in pharma/biotech environments, proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD and electrical analysis tools, and a strong capability in project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences facilities.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis tools (e.g., SKM PowerTools, ETAP).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and NFPA 99 codes.
• Experience with UPS and emergency power systems.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical construction drawings and specifications for cleanroom facilities, manufacturing suites, and laboratory environments.
• Design electrical power distribution systems for critical manufacturing equipment and regulated environments.
• Engineer lighting and emergency egress systems for pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.
• Perform load calculations, power system analyses, and coordinate arc flash/short circuit studies.
• Create electrical utility matrices and coordinate designs with process, mechanical, and automation disciplines.
• Prepare design narratives and basis-of-design documents for client review.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
