Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Building Engineering Services team in Charlotte or Raleigh. You will lead electrical design, coordinate cross-disciplinary work, and mentor other engineers to deliver high-quality project documents.

Responsibilities include client relations, code-compliance reviews, and on-site collaboration with project managers and architects. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, life safety, and building management systems.
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with the multidiscipline team throughout the project's development.
• Establish client relations and participate in design/production meetings for electrical systems.
• Lead electrical on many projects and mentor staff.
• Participate in reviews with agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct sessions for schematic, design development, and contract documents on site with project team.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule and manage budget parameters.
• Support project reviews with regional and corporate management.
