IMEG Corp seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for Inland Empire, CA or Downtown LA to lead design efforts as project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects in the building sector.

You will provide project direction, engineering analysis, and design oversight for electrical systems, mentor staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient solutions aligned with IMEG standards and client goals.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required.
  • PE License required.
  • 7+ years in building design consulting; 8+ preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit theory, power systems, and electronics.
  • IES standards and NFPA/FGI references are preferred.
  • Experience with eSPECS and MasterSpec editing.

The role also includes working within project budgets, assisting in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating across disciplines to support education-focused work, with additional exposure to healthcare and public-sector projects, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030. **At a Glance****Location:**Inland Empire - Ontario, CA or Downtown Los Angeles**Discipline:** Electrical**Markets:**Education**Ownership:**100% employee-owned (ESOP)**Travel:**Up to 20%**Work Schedule:**Full-time hybrid**Sponsorship:**Not available**What You'll Do*** Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations to code and IMEG standards.* Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.* Partner with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships.* Review electrical system designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence, and implement IMEG quality control processes.* Train, mentor, and motivate staff.* Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff.* Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.* Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work, and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.* Participate in project interviews and project presentations.**What You'll Bring****Required*** Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required* Professional Engineer (PE) License required* 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry* Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems* Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)* Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu* Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others* Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise* Ability to sell work and develop client relationships* Strong training and mentoring skills* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook* Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays**About the Team*** Service mix is centered on education work across K-12 and higher education, with a notable supporting presence in healthcare and public-sector projects.
