Job summary

Billerud NA in Michigan is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage electrical controls and instrumentation across capital, maintenance and mill projects. You will lead cross-functional teams and ensure reliable automation and safety compliance in a dynamic plant environment.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in electrical engineering, hands-on PLC and drive experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to drive project success from conception to startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years as an electrical engineer.
• Experience in project development, execution and commissioning.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and technical skills.
• Ability to lead change and drive improvement.
• Familiarity with Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation and Process disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and MS Project.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Interface with mill business units and manage electrical controls and instrumentation.
• Lead and support capital, maintenance and mill projects.
• Coordinate construction resources for project startup and execution.
• Manage multiple projects from conception through completion.
• Provide direction to contract engineering and external teams.
• Support mill operations and maintenance engineering.
• Advocate for codes, specifications, and documentation standards.
