Job summary

Superior is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role will handle all aspects of engineering design and construction deliverables from concept to completion under the Director of Engineering.

The position is based at our Columbus, Ohio headquarters with responsibilities spanning from design to field support on electrical systems. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in consulting engineering or electrical construction, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in consulting engineering or electrical construction.
Experience with building electrical systems is a plus.
Experience with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and other codes and standards is valuable.
Experience in heat calculations and MV cable pull calculations is beneficial.
PE certification in Ohio is preferred.

Responsibilities

Produce engineering deliverables including drawings and specifications.
Review construction documents for constructability and value engineering.
Lead design-build pursuits with scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop energization and electrical performance methods and procedures.
Support equipment testing and root cause analysis.
Interface with field, project operations, VDC, Estimating, and Prefabrication teams.
Provide field observations and respond to technical questions.
Create business case design enhancement studies.
Perform electrical calculations such as heat and power system studies.
