Job summary

Lunar Energy seeks an Electronics Engineer to own the full electrical development lifecycle for home energy storage systems. You will design, simulate, prototype, test, and bring products from concept through manufacturing, collaborating with a cross-functional team to push innovative, reliable power electronics.

You will work hands-on with high-voltage systems, PCB design in Altium, and lab testing to validate performance, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience in power electronics design.
• Experience with battery management systems, inverters, charge systems.
• Proficient with Altium Designer schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong lab skills with oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, sources, and loads.
• Working with high voltage, current, and power.
• Prototyping and rework including hot air soldering, flux application and cleaning.
• Familiarity with embedded control and programming of microcontrollers.
• Analog circuit design including op-amps and power supply design.
• Mixed-signal design with emphasis on noise analysis and grounding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create the best possible products by contributing to product level features, design, and vision.
• Detail-level design of tester interface boards spanning IOT devices, power electronics, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
• Bring up and testing of systems to validate functionality, optimize performance, and evaluate critical characteristics.
• Collaborate to create efficient test and validation mechanisms for PCBAs and the complete system.
• Work with the ME cross functional team on a bed of nails fixture.
• Work across functions such as mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering to optimize the product.
• Start-to-finish ownership of the electrical aspect of the system from design through prototype, validation and manufacturing.
• Good debugging and troubleshooting skills down to the component level.

Desired Skills:

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience in power electronics design,
• Experience with battery management systems ,inverters ,charge systems etc
• Proficient with Altium Designer schematic capture and PCB layout. Experience working with PCB fab and assembly houses.
• Strong lab skills with working knowledge of the tools and techniques for power conversion test and analysis (e.g., use of oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, sources, and loads in an environment with both high voltages and currents, and high common-mode and differential-mode noise)
• Working with high voltage, current, and power
• Skilled at prototyping and rework - conduction and hot air soldering, paste application, flux application and cleaning, etc.
• Familiarity with embedded control and application and programming of microcontrollers, PLDs and the like
• Analog circuit design including op-amps, stability analysis, power supply design both linear and switching design.
• Mixed-signal design with emphasis on noise analysis and grounding techniques.

Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is $130,000,000-$160,000 USD

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
