Job summary

Protingent is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct-hire role in Washington, DC. You will design, analyze, fabricate, test, and integrate electrical systems for ground support equipment and flight hardware, spanning analog and digital circuitry and instrumentation functions for thermal and electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities cover the full power system lifecycle, including battery technology selection, system sizing, packaging, and multi-chemistry testing in varied mission

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and integration of electrical systems for ground support and flight systems.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and testing analog and digital circuitry for thermal, electromechanical, control, and instrumentation systems.
• Strong understanding of power system sizing, packaging, and testing of batteries across various chemistries, including radiation, grounding, shielding, EMC, and thermal effects.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, fabricate, test, and integrate electrical systems for ground support equipment and flight hardware.
• Develop analog and digital circuitry for measurement, control, and instrumentation for thermal and electromechanical systems.

Position Description

Protingent has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer with our client in Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and integration of electrical systems for both ground support equipment and flight hardware. Develop analog and digital circuitry to support measurement, control, and instrumentation functions for thermal and electromechanical systems. Work across the full lifecycle of power systems, including battery technology selection, system sizing, packaging, and testing for a variety of chemistries and mission environments.

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and integration of electrical systems for ground support and flight systems. Experience designing, analyzing, and testing analog and digital circuitry for thermal, electromechanical, control, and instrumentation systems. Expertise in the sizing, technology selection, packaging, and testing of power systems, including batteries of various chemistries. Strong understanding of component ratings, environmental and performance limitations, radiation impacts, grounding and shielding methods, electromagnetic compatibility, and thermal effects. Proficiency with electronics design and simulation tools such as OrCAD, PSpice, ELECTRO, and MAGNETO. Skilled in the use of electronic instrumentation and test equipment. Experience with government procurement practices, regulations, and compliance requirements is a plus.
