The Impact You'll Make
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for transportation infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on highway and bridge lighting, roadway electrical systems, and related transportation improvements.
- Review, develop, and oversee construction documents including plans, specifications, calculation reports, cost estimates, material quantity takeoffs, shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and responses to client comments.
- Perform and review lighting analyses, photometric studies, electrical load calculations, and power distribution designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes and transportation agency standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality control oversight to junior engineering staff.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including roadway, bridge, traffic, and structural engineers, throughout project development and delivery.
- Support project managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination activities.
- Assist with business development efforts, including proposal preparation, scope development, and technical presentations.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for transportation electrical engineering projects across the organization.
The Expertise You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Florida PE or ability to obtain through reciprocity is highly desirable.
- 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience required
- Demonstrated experience with highway lighting, bridge lighting, roadway electrical systems, and transportation-related electrical design.
- FDOT experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead project tasks, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
- This position can report to any of our Florida offices.
