We’re partnering with a well-funded, venture-backed AI company that’s modernizing a large legacy industry through computer vision, machine learning, and modern software. Following a recent funding round, the company is continuing to expand its engineering team and invest in the next generation of intelligent hardware products.
The company’s platform combines advanced AI software with purpose-built edge devices that process data in real time. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing team and help develop physical products that will be deployed at scale across real-world customer environments.
We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the development of embedded hardware products from early board architecture through production. You’ll be responsible for schematic design, PCB layout, board fabrication, bring-up, electrical validation, and manufacturing support for connected edge devices.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly hands‑on, comfortable working across hardware and embedded systems, and excited to take products from early concepts through production and field deployment.
This is a full‑time, permanent position onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities
- Own electrical board development from concept through production, including system architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and design reviews
- Adapt chipset reference designs and evaluation boards into production-ready hardware
- Prepare board designs for fabrication and work with manufacturing partners through prototype and production builds
- Lead board bring‑up, debugging, and electrical validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment
- Design and validate high‑speed digital interfaces such as DDR/LPDDR, MIPI CSI‑2, USB, Ethernet, and PoE
- Evaluate designs against performance, power, thermal, reliability, cost, and form‑factor requirements
- Integrate image sensors, processors, memory, networking components, audio systems, and other peripherals
- Design for real‑world operating conditions, including PoE power budgets, surge protection, ESD protection, and thermal performance within sealed enclosures
- Support hardware and embedded software integration, including basic debugging across the electrical and software boundary
- Own the hardware development lifecycle through EVT, DVT, PVT, manufacturing handoff, and production
- Partner with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external engineering teams to support NPI, quality, cost, and production schedules
- Troubleshoot board‑level and system‑level issues throughout development and deployment
- Develop rapid prototypes and turn early‑stage concepts into functional hardware
