Job summary

Venteon is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Substations for a remote position, focused on high-voltage substation design for utility, renewable, and power delivery projects.

You will support physical design, protection and controls packages, and collaborate across civil, SCADA, relay, and management teams to deliver integrated solutions. A bachelor's degree and 3–7 years in the field are required, with familiarity in AutoCAD/Bluebeam and electrical codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–7 years of experience in substation/power delivery projects.
• Hands-on design experience in substations and protection & controls.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and safety practices.
• Experience with electrical codes: NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering of high-voltage substations for utility, renewable, and power delivery projects.
• Contribute to physical substation design and Protection & Controls packages.
• Lead or support engineering tasks from kickoff through IFC/design package completion.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, SCADA, relay, and PM teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical deliverables: one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, grounding plans, client documents.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Support the design and engineering of high-voltage substations for utility, renewable, and power delivery projects.
• Contribute to both physical substation design and Protection & Controls (P&C) engineering packages.
• Lead or support engineering tasks from project kickoff through IFC/design package completion.
• Coordinate closely with civil, structural, SCADA, relay, and project management teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical deliverables including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, grounding plans, and client-facing documents.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

• Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3 7 years of experience in electrical engineering in substation, power delivery, utility, or renewable energy projects.
• Hands-on experience supporting physical design, protection and controls, or both in substation projects.
• Strong understanding of high voltage systems.
• Experience working with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools for electrical design.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices.
• Familiarity with standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of energy management systems and sustainability best practices.
