Eaton’s ES AMER ESSdivision is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to sustain engineering support for the control systems and electronics used with Eaton’s medium voltage switchgear product line.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain designs, BOMs, drawings, and specifications for control systems and relays.
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes for existing products.
• Resolve production, manufacturing, and testing issues with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers to evaluate capabilities and approve components.
• Investigate product quality issues; document findings and support customer communications.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, DF/ DFA methodologies.
• Perform analyses and simulations using CAD, FEA, and other engineering tools.
• Coordinate product verification, validation, and reliability testing with internal and external labs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and performance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000- $126000a year.

What you’ll do:

This high impact role is responsible for sustaining engineering support for the control systems and electronics used with Eaton’s medium voltage switchgear product line - reclosers, fault interrupters, and switches. The Senior Electrical Engineer identifies creative solutions, performs engineering analysis, creates designs, oversees verification, and contributes to the implementation of product cost savings, product improvements, and engineering process improvement projects.

• Develop and maintain product designs, BOMs, drawings, and specifications for control systems and protective relays.
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes for existing products.
• Resolve production, manufacturing, and testing issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Partner with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers to evaluate capabilities, conduct assessments, and approve components.
• Investigate product quality and reliability issues; document findings and support customer communications.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Design for Six Sigma, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
• Perform engineering analyses and simulations using CAD, FEA, and other engineering tools.
• Coordinate product verification, validation, and reliability testing with internal and external laboratories.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and overall performance.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• -Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
• -Minimum two (2) years of engineering experience.
• -No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• -Minimum two (2) years of design experience with PCBA design and electrical circuits
• -Experience with engineering analysis and digital simulation (CAD, FEA, statistical analysis, software applications, electrical analysis tools, etc…,).
• -High voltage design experience and power system analysis experience
• -Experience with PCB development tools

Skills:

• -Product design, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing knowledge.
• -Excellent computer and data analysis skills including Microsoft Office suite.
• -Problem solving experience using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
• -Strong analytical aptitude to troubleshoot Analog & Digital designs at the component level
• -Project leadership skills
• -Knowledge of Green belt training
