We specialize in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, environmental services, facilities engineering, land surveying and asset management. We are seeking a resourceful, self-motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele.

Location considerations: Pittsburgh, PA; Camp Hill, PA; Baltimore, MD; Annapolis, MD are primary targets, with consideration for B&L’s other New York office locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level electrical engineering services for municipal, commercial, private and industrial facilities projects.
• Design and manage small to large electrical engineering projects across building and power distribution systems.
• Develop electrical studies, lighting design, emergency power, electrical service entrances, medium voltage power equipment, and related components.
• Collaborate with project teams including architects and other engineers to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams; mentor junior staff as needed.
• Assist with proposal development and business development efforts as appropriate.
• Continually expand technical capabilities and project management skills to meet evolving client needs.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10–15+ years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to design and manage projects across multiple scales.
• Broad technical background in electrical engineering related to building systems and power distribution.
• Specific areas of expertise may include: electrical service entrances, medium voltage power equipment, power distribution, electrical studies, emergency power, lighting design, alarm systems, telecommunications, and industrial process-related electrical.
• Excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong working knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, NFPA) and relevant building codes; familiarity with the work of other project team members (architects, structural, mechanical, and civil engineers).
• Desired soft skills: client interfacing, mentoring staff, and assisting with proposal development.
• Industry certifications such as Certified Energy Manager or LEED AP are a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY, PA or MD or eligibility to obtain is desired.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated pay range: $115,000 – $145,000 per year. Actual compensation varies based on related work experience, location, education, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
