Job description

We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to design the circuits behind a next-generation implantable neuromodulation system for deep brain stimulation (DBS). You will own small, high-density PCBAs inside implantable stimulators and see your work go all the way from concept to patients.

This isn't a narrow role. You will work across the whole product: circuit design, ASICs, testing, manufacturing, and talking with clinicians. If you want to grow fast and not get pigeonholed, this is the place.

  • Redwood City, CA or Audubon, PA | Onsite (5 days/week) Open to candidates willing to relocate
  • $150,000 base + bonus (depending on experience)
  • Open to H-1B transfer and F-1 OPT/STEM OPT candidates
What you'll do
  • Design and develop electronics for Class III implantable stimulators, including small-form-factor PCBAs
  • Build the circuits that deliver the therapy: stimulation output, sensing, power management and charging
  • Contribute to ASIC development and integration, from requirements to characterization
  • Own schematics, component selection, BOMs, and hardware characterization and verification
  • Support design controls, verification protocols, and risk management (FMEA, hazard analysis)
  • Work closely with firmware, mechanical, systems and test engineers, and explain your work clearly to clinicians and other non-technical stakeholders
What we're looking for
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of hardware design experience in medical devices or another regulated industry. Strong mid-level engineers ready to step into a senior role are encouraged to apply.
  • Hands-on experience with mixed-signal, embedded and/or power electronics design
  • Experience with active implantables (neurostimulators, pacemakers, ICDs) is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601 and/or ISO 14708
  • Clear communicator and team player who enjoys working across many parts of a project
  • ASIC design or integration experience
  • Closed-loop stimulation or sensing electronics
  • C, Python or Assembly for test tools or firmware support
