Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support growth in the Industrial and Municipal Water Sector in Nashville. You will design and execute electrical distribution for water and wastewater projects, lead complex studies, and influence project outcomes with a senior engineering team.

You will guide junior engineers, develop 3D models, coordinate with clients and contractors, and help prepare construction documents and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Engineer-of-Record for projects/components of varying complexity.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all electrical systems or products.
• Develops a design through sketches, models, diagrams and visuals.
• Uses 3D models to represent electrical systems.
• Mentors junior and intermediate engineers, designers and drafters.
• Prepares and revises plans, diagrams and details across design phases.
• Leads project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participates in client requirements, value analysis and cost estimating.
• Develops and manages scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Coordinates project specifications with construction documents.
• Participates in constructability review.
• Performs QA/QC on own projects.
• Reviews deliverables by peers and junior staff.
• Assists in developing new standards for the electrical group.
• Develops scope, budgets and design approaches for all sizes.
• Assists with proposals for potential projects.
• Oversees multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversees field reviews and RFIs during construction.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Acts as Engineer-of-Record for projects and/or project components of varying degrees of complexity.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all electrical engineered systems or products for a project.
• Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
• Provides guidance, training and mentorship for junior and intermediate engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Prepares and revises documentation in various phases of design and construction, including plans, diagrams, and details.
• Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Develops and manages project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
• Participate in constructability review.
• Conducts quality assurance and implements quality control on own projects.
• Conducts reviews of project deliverables produced by peers and subordinate engineers.
• Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the electrical group.
• Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
• Assists with the development of proposals for potential projects.
• Oversee and manage multiple projects.
• Conducts and/or oversees field reviews required to assess as-built conditions.
• Conducts and/or oversees construction phase services, responds to RFIs, reviews shop drawings, and conducts reviews of construction for general conformance with design.
