Job summary

Trystar, a leader in power distribution, conditioning equipment, and related services, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Cypress, TX facility. You will contribute to electrical engineering design across multiple product lines and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will drive development processes, support manufacturing, and ensure designs meet safety and industry standards, while working with a values-driven culture focused on safety, integrity, and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Power Electronics and Magnetics experience.
• 10+ years in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineer electrical work products for Trystar’s power conditioner, rectifier, lighting inverter, and battery backup lines.
• Develop and improve product development processes for speed, scale and accuracy.
• Support manufacturing with process improvements and quote packages.
• Create and release drawings, analysis, test plans, and electrical documentation.

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

This position is located at Trystar’s Cypress, TX facility and reports directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager.

In this role you will get to:

• Engineer the electrical work products for Trystar’s Power Conditioner, Rectifier, Lighting Inverter, and Battery Backup product lines.
• Develop and improve product development processes to achieve greater speed, scale, and accuracy.
• Contribute directly to customer order fulfillment while identifying process efficiency improvements.
• Facilitate daily support of manufacturing and production challenges.
• Vet new business opportunities, support quote packages, and recommend product changes/improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Create, review, approve, and release drawings, analysis, test plans, and other electrical engineering documentation.
• Document best practices in reviews, documentation, designs, and lessons-learned.
• Collaborate with cross functional discipline leaders and teams to define requirements and specifications for products and subsystems.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineeringfrom an accredited University.
• Power Electronics and Magnetics experience.

• Minimum 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government or military).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communications skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence within the organization.

• Proficiency with major ERP and CAD systems.
• Familiarity with PLC or embedded software programming.
• Experience in the design of complex high, medium, and low voltage power systems, electrical equipment upgrades, arc flash hazard analysis, switchgear, motor control centers, drives, lighting, emergency power, and power distribution equipment.
• Familiarity with compliance and safety design implications such as UL, ETL, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA 70E.

• Microsoft Office proficient.
