Senior Electrical Engineer – Space Solutions (Hybrid | Houston, TX)

We’re recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading innovator in defense, national security, and space technology. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and development of space-qualified electronics including power supplies, power distribution, sensors, command/data handling systems, and flight computers.
• Oversee PCB design: schematic layout, routing, symbol/footprint creation, and fabrication file prep.
• Write technical documentation such as assembly instructions, test procedures, and analysis reports.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting using industry-standard equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, load banks, etc.).
• Perform and oversee qualification and acceptance testing for safety-critical flight hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Flight Ops, Systems, Safety) to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Support proposals, provide technical input, and contribute to cost/schedule estimates.
• Travel up to 30% (domestic & international) to customer facilities, NASA/government centers, and launch sites.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• 4–7 years of experience in electrical design and development.
• Experience designing, testing, and integrating electrical systems for space applications.
• Strong background with custom isolated DC-DC converters and schematic design.
• Familiarity with Phase Shifted Full Bridge, Resonant, or Dual Active Bridge topologies (a plus).
• Proficiency in LTSpice, PSIM, or equivalent modeling tools.
• Knowledge of radiation-hardened, space-grade parts (NASA EEE-INST-002).

Preferred:

• Experience in the space hardware industry.
• Master’s degree or equivalent.
