Job summary

Hunt Electric seeks an Engineer 3 in our Commercial Division to perform advanced electrical design and BIM coordination on complex projects. The engineer will collaborate with the Design-Engineering department, project teams, and external partners.

Responsibilities include creating complex Revit drawings, coordinating BIM models with field management, generating installation drawings, and facilitating project handoffs with customers and industry professionals.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree and PE licensure required.
• Extensive experience in electrical design and modeling.
• Strong 3D/BIM modeling using Revit and advanced modeling skills.
• Excellent planning, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create complex electrical drawings for construction within Revit on diverse projects.
• Develop coordinated 3D/BIM models for electrical installations with field management support.
• Produce installation drawings from 3D/BIM models.
• Coordinate with external customers and industry professionals to finalize designs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

10 years of engineering experience

Minimum 5 years related electrical design/modeling experience

Advanced knowledge and experience using Revit

Job description

The Engineer 3 - Commercial Division provides advanced level electrical design and Building Information Modeling coordination on a wide variety of complex electrical design projects. The Engineer 3 will interact and collaborate within the Design-Engineering department, various departments within the company, and other partners outside of the company.

• Create complex electrical drawings for electrical construction within Revit on a variety of projects collaborating with project managers, general foremen and Engineering Division Manager.
• Create coordinated 3D/BIM models specifically for the electrical installation with the assistance of field management.
• Create installation drawings from the 3D/BIM models.
• Facilitate finished product with external customers and industry professionals.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure and 10 years of engineering experience.
• Advanced 3D/BIM modeling experience using Revit.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Minimum 5 years related electrical design/modeling experience.
