Job summary

Swanson Rink, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for high-tech facilities, including data centers and expansions. You will develop power systems, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and mentor project engineers and BIM staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed.
• Experience with mission-critical data center projects.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Understanding of power distribution and standby power systems.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical lead for electrical engineering and design of high-tech facilities, including new data centers, facility expansions, and system upgrades.
• Create power design for complex electrical systems including UPS and generator support systems.
• Expertise in power distribution, grounding, standby power, uninterruptible power, and related systems.
• Develop an electrical one-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, studies, and software-based analyses.
• Coordinate building systems and inter-discipline collaboration.
• Lead, mentor, and delegate portions of design work to project engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD staff.

This position is the technical lead for specific clients including hyperscale, colocation and enterprise. Your Job Responsibilities:

• Be the technical lead for the electrical engineering and design of high-tech facilities, including new data centers, facility expansions, and system upgrades.
• Create power design for complex electrical systems including UPS and generator support systems.
• Have expertise in power distribution, grounding, standby power, uninterruptible power, and related systems.
• Possess proficiency in the development of electrical one-lines, specifications, calculations, studies, and software-based systems analysis.
• Have a strong understanding of building systems and inter-discipline coordination.
• Be comfortable leading, mentoring, and delegating portions of design work to project engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD staff.

Requirements

Your Requirements and Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• This position requires a strong understanding of the mission critical industry and the nuances of renovation and greenfield construction projects.
• Experience designing of medium voltage, power monitoring, lighting, and lighting controls systems a plus.
• Must be available to travel occasionally.
• Requires the ability to pass background checks, security screenings or drug testing as required by our clients and/or Federal contracts.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary range of $140,000 - $160,000+ and will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
