Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. has a Vermont-based opening for a licensed Electrical Engineer to lead design on industrial and process-driven facilities.

You will manage electrical scope from basis of design through startup, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers to deliver integrated facility designs. The role is office-based in the Burlington, VT area, requiring strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70E and experience with power system studies.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) with Vermont registration or ability to obtain.
• Electrical design experience on industrial or process-driven facilities.
• Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.
• Experience running power system studies in SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Semiconductor facility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on projects from basis of design through construction and startup.
• Design power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, including LV/MV, motor controls, lighting, standby generation, and fire alarm.
• Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Prepare one-lines, load calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs.
• Support construction administration, including submittal review, RFI review, and site visits.
• Review and seal drawings and calculations as Engineer of Record.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.

About our client

Our client is a growing, employee-owned engineering firm that designs electrical, mechanical, process, and control systems for semiconductor fabs, life sciences plants, research labs, and industrial manufacturing facilities. They are adding a licensed electrical engineer to their Vermont team.

The role

The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design on the firm's projects from basis of design through construction and startup. The firm develops its leaders from within, so engineers who join take on more responsibility for projects, clients, and staff as they grow with the company.

The position is based in the Burlington, VT area and works from the office.

What you would be doing

• Design power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, including low- and medium-voltage distribution, motor controls, lighting and lighting control, standby generation, and fire alarm
• Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
• Prepare one-lines, load calculations, specifications, and construction documents
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs
• Support construction administration, including submittal and RFI review and site visits
