Soap Creek Resources is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to join our Burlington, Vermont team. You will lead electrical design on industrial and process-driven facilities from basis of design through construction and startup, mentoring junior staff as you grow with the firm.

The role emphasizes hard-won design excellence, NEC/NFPA 70E compliance, and collaboration with process, mechanical, and controls engineers.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) with VT registration or eligibility.
• Experience designing electrical systems for industrial or process-driven facilities.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E.

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical design from basis of design through construction and startup.
• Prepare drawings, load calculations, and construction documents.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs.
• Support construction administration and review submittals and RFIs.
• Review and seal drawings as Engineer of Record; mentor junior staff.

About our client

Our client is a growing, employee-owned engineering firm that designs electrical, mechanical, process, and control systems for semiconductor fabs, life sciences plants, research labs, and industrial manufacturing facilities. They are adding a licensed electrical engineer to their Vermont team.

The role

The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design on the firm's projects from basis of design through construction and startup. The firm develops its leaders from within, so engineers who join take on more responsibility for projects, clients, and staff as they grow with the company.

The position is based in the Burlington, VT area and works from the office.

What you would be doing

• Design power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, including low- and medium-voltage distribution, motor controls, lighting and lighting control, standby generation, and fire alarm
• Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
• Prepare one-lines, load calculations, specifications, and construction documents
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs
• Support construction administration, including submittal and RFI review and site visits
• Review and seal drawings and calculations as Engineer of Record
• Mentor junior engineers and designers

What we are looking for

• Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical), with Vermont registration or the ability to obtain it
• Electrical design experience on industrial, semiconductor, life sciences, or other process-driven facilities
• Working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E
• Experience running power system studies in SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
• Semiconductor facility experience is a plus
