Job summary

Talent Harbor seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer 3 to lead end-to-end PCB/PCBA design for ultrasound medical devices. You will own schematic capture, layout, prototyping, and design reviews for high-performance transducer electronics in a fast-paced environment onsite in Bothell, WA.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with the Director of Technology, and contribute to ISO 13485 readiness while driving quality documentation and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.
• Hands-on PCB/PCBA design skills; Altium experience preferred.
• Experience with quality documentation (ECOs, BOMs, travelers, work instructions).

Responsibilities

• Own PCB/PCBA design end-to-end including schematic capture and layout; prototype bring-up and design reviews.
• Oversee production of outsourced PCBs and coordinate with manufacturers.
• Develop test fixtures and bench methods using impedance/network analyzers and high-power equipment.
• Debug prototype and production hardware; perform root-cause troubleshooting.
• Learn and apply quality systems; grow toward ECO sign-off authority.
• Mentor 1–2 junior engineers and collaborate with CTO.
• Design cables and wire harnesses for system builds.

Senior Electrical Engineer 3 – Ultrasound Technology & Medical Device Innovation · Bothell, WA (Onsite)

Are you a senior electrical engineer who wants real ownership, not just a seat at the table?

We're a global leader in therapeutic ultrasound technology, designing and manufacturing high-performance ultrasound systems used in applications like tumor treatment, kidney stone therapy, and precision tissue targeting. Our senior EE is fully focused on developing our next-generation neuromodulation technology, and we're looking for someone ready to take the reins on day-to-day electrical engineering.

You won't just execute tickets, you'll own PCB/PCBA design end-to-end and grow into a true engineering leader on our team.

What you'll do

• Own PCB/PCBA design end-to-end — schematic capture, layout (Altium preferred), prototype bring-up, and design reviews for ultrasonic transducer and drive system electronics
• Oversee production of outsourced PCBs and partner directly with manufacturing vendors on builds and issue resolution
• Develop test fixtures and bench methods, using impedance/network analyzers and high-power measurement equipment
• Debug prototype and production hardware at the board and system level, driving root-cause troubleshooting
• Build fluency in our quality systems (ECOs, BOMs, travelers, work instructions) and grow into ECO sign-off authority as we advance toward ISO 13485 certification
• Mentor 1–2 junior electrical engineers and work hand-in-hand with our Director of Technology
• Design cable and wire harnesses as needed for system-level builds

What we're looking for

• 7–10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB (non-negotiable)
• Strong, hands-on PCB/PCBA design skills; Altium experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with quality documentation (ECOs, BOMs, travelers, work instructions)
• Demonstrated initiative and ownership — someone who drives projects forward without waiting to be told what to do
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable mentoring and collaborating with a close-knit technical team
• Bonus points: exposure to ultrasound or medical device hardware, or adjacent fields like laser/optics with a strong physics foundation; familiarity with IEC 60601-1
