What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee maintenance and reliability engineering activities, including the design, upkeep, modification, and repair of utility systems, buildings, and equipment.
  • Provide technical engineering oversight for project execution plans and conduct engineering studies supporting equipment installation, modification, and replacement.
  • Develop detailed and robust engineering designs to support capital investments, site electrical infrastructure expansion, and enhanced reliability of power plant utility systems, including: Combined Heat and Power (CHP) turbines Emergency diesel generators Medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems UPS systems and associated controls
  • Review electrical construction specifications, drawings, and design packages for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and consulting engineers to optimize cost, performance, and reliability of utility and building systems.
  • Lead or co-lead engineering projects and manage project execution from planning through completion.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership in project management, prioritization, forecasting, and resource allocation for maintenance and engineering activities.
  • Develop scopes of work, project execution strategies, and supporting engineering studies.
  • Manage personal and departmental workloads to achieve project objectives and agreed-upon timelines.
  • Plan and coordinate short-term engineering and maintenance activities to ensure efficient execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational performance, and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Support implementation of preventive maintenance strategies, processes, and procedures that improve equipment performance and asset reliability.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and update equipment reliability plans based on findings.
  • Provide technical support for equipment and process improvement initiatives utilizing sound engineering principles and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Utilize broad engineering knowledge and experience to develop innovative solutions and improve products, processes, and services.
  • Provide technical support for field and customer activities, including: Data collection and analysis Electrical one-line diagram updates and revisions Electrical system performance assessments
  • Offer engineering guidance to operations and maintenance teams to support reliable system performance and informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMP requirements, quality standards, OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain calibration and maintenance activities in accordance with GxP requirements, current technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Promote safe system design and operational practices through proactive safety assessments and adherence to site safety procedures.
  • Foster a strong safety culture across engineering, maintenance, and operational teams.
  • Apply engineering discipline knowledge and technical expertise to contribute effectively to departmental objectives.
  • Independently resolve moderately complex technical and operational issues while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Exercise sound judgment and professional discretion to develop practical and innovative solutions.
  • Review personal work for accuracy and quality while seeking guidance when appropriate.
  • Mentor and support colleagues through technical coaching, work reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Actively participate in site and corporate initiatives, including: Communities of Practice (CoPs) Limited Duration Teams (LDTs) Cross-functional improvement and strategic initiatives
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Electrical, Plant Utility systems design and layout for: Electrical, Standby, Emergency and UPS Power Systems, System Grounding and Lightning Protection and Low Voltage Distribution Systems.
  • Experience with underground electric distribution and medium-voltage substations
  • Experience in master planning, design, installation, and operation of central utility systems
  • Experience in Electrical Power Studies, Voltage Drop, Over Current Device Coordination Studies, Arc Flash Hazard knowledge.
  • Experience and understanding of all applicable electrical and energy codes, i.e. NFPA70E, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL, LEED, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to work as a team across functional areas such as operations, maintenance.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs, ladders, etc. on an on-going basis, in an industrial plant and/or construction site setting. Must be able to utilize ladders, scaffolds, high-lifts, and enter/work in confined spaces. Required to wear personal protective equipment where necessary

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,200.00 to $165,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
