ROI Agency is seeking a draftsman with strong AutoCAD and MicroStation skills to support the design and documentation of electrical infrastructure. The role focuses on producing detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for substation projects in a collaborative team environment.

Ideal candidates will have a two-year drafting credential and at least five years of relevant experience, including electrical substation exposure.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or equivalent drafting program graduate.
• 5+ years’ experience in drafting with electrical substation exposure.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation for drafting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical drawings for equipment layouts and installation details.
• Create section views, elevations, and electrical schematics from plans.
• Draft wiring/interconnect drawings and ensure document quality and consistency.
• Apply standard drafting practices and collaborate with the team under supervision.

About the Company

Position Overview

Associate’s degree in Drafting, Drafting Certificate or demonstrated experience drafting disciplines used by the engineering group with an average minimum of five years’ job experience; capable of efficiently utilizing electronic drawing production tools. Manual drafting skills may also be required. Services include electronic drawing production and modification with limited manual drafting needs. Position requires technical and administrative supervision.

Responsibilities

• Apply principles and techniques of acquired experience to accomplish tasks
• Produce mechanical drawings for construction purposes such as equipment arrangement plans, section views, cable tray plans, switchgear building layouts, and installation details, grounding details, conduit details, foundation details, and steel details
• Produce section views, elevations, and details from plan drawings with limited guidance
• Produce electrical schematic diagrams
• Produce wiring and interconnect drawings from schematics with limited guidanceControl quality and consistency of drafted documents
• Provide adaptations to common designs
• Advanced knowledge of common industry practices
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Report to team supervisor
