Insight Global is assisting a client to hire an Electrical Designer for a growing Oil, Gas and Chemical team based in Kansas City, MO. The role emphasizes leadership, coordination, and delivering comprehensive 2D/3D drawings.

You will work on diverse projects, produce drawings, perform electrical calculations, and ensure adherence to design standards and project constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology with 7+ years experience, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in Oil, Gas, Chemical, Industrial, or Power Generation projects.
• 5+ years of Electrical Design experience: cable tray, grounding, duct bank, conduit, lighting.

Responsibilities

• Design layouts for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray and lighting.
• Produce 2D/3D drawings including one-lines, motor schematics, hazardous areas, sections/elevations.
• Perform grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray and lighting calculations as required.
• Follow company, client and project design and drafting standards.

A client of Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their growing team in the Oil, Gas, and Chemical sector, based at their headquarters in Kansas City, MO. This position offers the opportunity to exercise your design skills, plan and produce 2D/3D deliverables, and showcase your leadership talents through coordination, communication, and execution of projects.

The Electrical Designer will work on a diverse portfolio of projects with various clients in the Oil, Gas & Chemical industries to perform the following duties:

• Design physical layouts for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
• Plan and develop a full range of drawing deliverables such as one-lines, motor schematics, hazardous areas, grounding, duct bank, lighting, power, cable tray, installation details, and section/elevations.
• Perform calculations for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
• Follow all company, client, and project design and drafting standards.
• Execute, organize, and maintain project revisions to designs and drawings in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Interpret and apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Review design deliverables for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
• Coordinate drafting and design efforts with both internal and external clients and vendors.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology and 7 years experience OR
• Associate's degree and 8 years experience OR
• No degree and 9 years progressive detailing and design experience
• 3+ years of experience within Oil, Gas, Chemical, Industrial or Power Generation industry OR Commercial (electrical layout for a building)
• 5+ years of experience with Electrical Design: designing cable tray OR duct bank OR grounding OR conduit OR lighting
• Must be able to own a design with no assistance
• Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings

Plusses:

• Experience with SmartPlant3D OR AutoCAD, Forte
• Experience in Class I Division 2 Groups B, C, D hazardous area
