Amentum is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. You will develop facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems, including plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, as well as lighting design for buildings and outdoor areas.

This position offers in-office or remote work with a strong preference for the Oak Ridge office.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED or A.A. in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
• Construction support experience for Title 3 activities.
• Experience providing construction support during construction.
• Sole US citizenship to comply with government requirements.
• Short Circuit Analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of the NEC.
• Broad range of electrical systems knowledge (power, substation, fire alarm, lighting, load flow, communications, grounding, equipment).a0
• Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D/3-D applications (Smartplant or Revit).

Responsibilities

• Develop facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems (plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations, details, schedules, BOMs).
• Produce drawings for instrumentation and controls systems (system architecture, ladder diagrams, input/output diagrams, instrument data sheets).
• Design complete lighting for buildings and outdoor areas, including fixture selection and calculations for normal and emergency scenarios.
• Assist with cost estimating and equipment summaries for BOMs.

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, Tennessee office.

As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes development of facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials; and drawings for instrumentation and controls systems such as: system architecture, ladder diagrams, input/output diagrams, and instrument data sheets. This also includes complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas. Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations. Activities could include assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials.

Work Location

This position is designed to support either in-office or remote work, with a strong preference for the successful candidate to work from Amentum's office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Employees who reside within 50 miles of Oak Ridge will be expected to work from the Oak Ridge office. Employees who live more than 50 miles away are eligible for a remote work arrangement; however, remote employees must travel to the Oak Ridge office on a quarterly basis. Those working remotely are required to maintain a company‑approved secure workspace that meets all client security requirements and is located within the United States. This U.S.-based secure work location requirement applies to all projects associated with the position.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or an Associate's degree in engineering from an accredited certified institution
• 15 or more years of electrical engineering design experience
• Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
• Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required
• Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
• Short Circuit Analysis experience
• Working knowledge of the NEC
• Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
• Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications (Smartplant or Revit) is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• DOE experience desired
• NQA-1 experience desired
• Lighting calculation experience
• Familiarity with 3 Dimensional applications with use of software such as Smartplant or Revit

Compensation Details:

$74/HR - $87/HR
