WSP seeks a Design Studies Engineer - Technical Director with an Electrical Studies emphasis for our Boise, Idaho office. Remote candidates will be considered for Clarkston, WA, Portland, OR, San Diego, CA, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT and Fort Worth, TX.

Lead electrical studies for utility and industrial clients across locations. The role requires technical excellence, project leadership, mentoring, and strong communication to explain complex issues to clients and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in electrical studies for utility/industrial projects.
• PE license or equivalent (multi-state preferred).
• Ability to lead teams and mentor staff while delivering quality work.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical studies for substation grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality analysis.
• Coordinate and review design plans, ensuring compliance with codes and QA/QC standards.
• Mentor mid- to senior-level engineers and guide project teams.
• Engage with clients to develop opportunities and maintain relationships.
• Represent the firm in proposal writing and client meetings.
