Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Greenville, SC seeks a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead technical direction on complex projects, oversee an area, and mentor engineers. This role drives quality and technical accuracy across all project phases.

Responsibilities include electrical calculations, specifications, procurement support, and schedule/cost forecasting, with emphasis on collaboration with clients and field teams. A PE license is preferred for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive work experience.
• Ability to communicate with management, clients, and field personnel.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70/NEC).
• Experience with project scheduling, estimating, and procurement support.
• Proficiency in both computer-aided and manual design methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers; provide technical direction on projects.
• Develop and review estimates, schedules, and material forecasts.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications, data sheets and bid evaluations.
• Perform electrical calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, relay coordination).
• Coordinate with client, field, procurement, and subcontract activities.
