Job summary

Jobot in Metairie, LA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our construction team and lead electrical design for commercial and residential projects.

You will collaborate with other engineers and construction staff to ensure on-time completion and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in construction.
• Proficient in Revit and building systems design.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• PE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and supervise the installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial or residential construction projects.
• Conduct detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction or installation standards or specifications.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Plan layout of electric power generating plants and distribution lines and stations.
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with other engineers and construction personnel to ensure project completion by the specified deadline.
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
• Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
• Monitor and resolve various electrical engineering issues and problems during the project.
