Job summary

Tract Capital Management, LP is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to own the electrical design and power system studies for Fleet’s behind-the-meter power solutions. The role develops and maintains the Basis of Design, aligns with vendors and utilities, and ensures safety, code, and availability for mission-critical deployments.

Education includes a BS in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years in relevant design roles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical design for mission-critical facilities, power systems, or industrial generation integration.
• Experience owning the electrical discipline scope for behind-the-meter (BTM) generation integration.
• Proven track record developing and maintaining the electrical Basis of Design (BOD) and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical discipline scope for BTM generation integration; one-line development, grounding/bonding, protection, controls interfaces, telemetry.
• Develop and maintain the electrical Basis of Design (BOD) and design standards; ensure consistency across sites and deployments.
• Lead coordination with equipment vendors (switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, metering, controls) and validate compliance to standards.
• Drive alignment with electric utilities and interconnection requirements; support technical documentation and utility review processes.
• Support design reviews and constructability reviews with EPC partners; resolve RFIs and ensure high-quality turnover packages.
• Define commissioning and acceptance requirements; support testing, energization planning, and troubleshooting during start-up.
• Partner with Operations and Critical Facilities teams to ensure maintainable operating modes and robust change management.
