Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled facilities technician to maintain data center and critical electrical equipment across a complex campus. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency response, and coordinating with vendors and Onsite Engineering Operations to ensure uptime.

The role requires a State Certified Journeyman's License or VMET, U.S. Citizenship, ability to obtain clearance, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• State Certified Journeyman's License or VMET Certification is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Understanding of power density and HVAC capacities; ensure availability targets are met.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and their components.
• Commitment to excellence and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and daily corrective work on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with Onsite Engineering Operations and vendors.
• Provide technical oversight for junior technicians and contractors involved in electrical duties.
• Analyze system requirements and recommend modifications to improve reliability and uptime.
• Install new units or replacement parts per specifications and safety guidelines; follow MOPs and industry best practices.
• Maintain logs in CMMS and generate reliability reports to identify improvement areas.
• Train junior staff on electrical equipment and systems maintenance and operation.
