Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Superintendent in Lenexa, KS to lead the safe commissioning of major electrical systems on large industrial projects. You will oversee pre‑commissioning, testing, and turnover, coordinating with engineering, construction, vendors, and operations to ensure readiness.

The role requires experience with power distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS, grounding, and control systems; you will manage a team of about 20 technicians, with strong planning

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with pre‑commissioning and commissioning of large electrical systems.
• Experience leading ~20 technicians through turnover and commissioning.
• Familiar with completions software and electrical readiness workflows.
• Strong planning, coordination, and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure electrical safety procedures compliance.
• Coordinate pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up of major electrical systems.
• Conduct system walk‑downs and verify readiness for testing and turnover.
• Supervise testing and troubleshooting, including insulation resistance and energization.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and OEMs.
• Track progress and report status to leadership.
• Maintain commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
