Job summary

The City of San José’s Public Works Department is recruiting Building Inspector positions (Electrical Specialty, Combination I/II/III/Senior) to inspect City facilities and ensure compliance with codes, including work at the Airport and Central Service Yard.

You will conduct inspections, investigate land-use changes, review plans for code compliance, and provide technical support to agencies and the public, collaborating closely with architects, engineers and City staff.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting inspections to ensure code compliance.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications within 12 months.
