Job summary

Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B) is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Electrical department in our Philadelphia office. The role involves guiding projects from concept through completion, working with upper management on staff development, firm marketing, and business development efforts at JB&B.

You will lead conceptual design, serve as client contact, ensure deliverables, and present designs at meetings, while coordinating with teams to meet deadlines across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 8-14 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Proficient in design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD).
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project, trade-related codes, and coordination with other trades.
• Strong understanding of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (SD, DD, CD and specs).

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design for projects and guide team through completion.
• Act as day-to-day client contact on projects.
• Manage and review project documents for timely, accurate implementation.
• Deliver technically and functionally sound project outcomes.
• Present project designs in internal and external meetings.
• Coordinate and update project team to meet design goals and deadlines.
• Initiate and manage design changes, proposals, and approvals.
• Execute fit-out/renovation and large/complex projects from concept to completion.
• Prepare technical letters addressing design issues and code interpretations.
• Communicate effectively with project teams to manage issues and deliverables.
