Job summary

Rio Tinto Kennecott in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (Asset Integrity) to provide strategic oversight and technical leadership for the safety, reliability, and lifecycle management of electrical, power, control, and instrumentation assets across the operation.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Procurement to strengthen compliance, develop a 10-year capital plan, and drive asset performance improvements while ensuring adherence to Rio Tinto

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
At least 3 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering, project engineering, maintenance, operations, or a related technical environment.
Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate complex electrical risks clearly.

Responsibilities

Assess asset condition, performance, integrity, and business risk; develop lifecycle strategies focusing on safety, reliability, and obsolescence.
Establish compliance and assurance programs aligned with Rio Tinto Asset Management requirements and standards.
Lead arc flash studies and electrical protection reviews to strengthen safety and risk controls.
Develop and prioritize a 10-year capital plan for electrical infrastructure balancing safety, reliability, and financial constraints.
Own Kennecott electrical, power, control, and instrumentation standards and support implementation of the Rio Tinto electrical safety standard.
