The City of Alexandria is seeking a Senior Electric Line Worker for the Electric Distribution Department in central Louisiana. The role involves installing, maintaining, energizing and repairing high and low voltage lines, transformers, switches and street lights to ensure reliable power for city customers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with electrical training, five years of line work, and a valid Class B CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with vocational or technical training in electrical system installation, repair and maintenance.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible line work.
• Must possess a valid Class B commercial driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Diagnoses power problems and communicates with the public to determine the source of power outages.
• Runs new overhead services; assists in erecting poles and adjusting wires.
• Climbs poles or rides in a truck-mounted bucket to install equipment and perform repairs.
