Job summary

The Principal Engineer (Process Technology – Elastomers) provides technical leadership for polymerization processes (Hytrel® and Vamac®), partnering with Manufacturing Operations to drive improvements in process performance, asset uptime, product quality and yield, and champions process safety.

Location is preferentially at the Cooper River site near Charleston, SC, or at the Sabine River Vamac facility in Orange, TX or the Clear Lake facility in Houston, TX, with travel expected about 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in manufacturing, R&D, or process technology roles.
• Experience with polymerization processes and process safety principles.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Expand polymerization process expertise for Hytrel® and Vamac® to support manufacturing optimization.
• Lead teams to drive projects improving safety, uptime, quality and yield.
• Collaborate with peers on process development, materials qualifications and capacity growth.
