Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking an Elastic Search Engineer to join a high-energy platform engineering team supporting mission-critical Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and Intelligence Community. You will develop, deploy, and maintain Elasticsearch and Redis databases within a Kubernetes microservice ecosystem, embracing GitOps practices.

The role requires 8+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Redis, Linux, and security certifications, plus the ability to obtain a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience (or Master’s with 6+ years).
DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification (Security+/CySA+/SSCP/CCNA Security/CISSP or Associate).
Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification.
Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms (EKS, Rancher, or RKE2).
Experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, Keycloak, Strimzi.
Strong Linux system administration knowledge.
Experience with open-source tech and modern infra platforms.
Ability to harden databases per NIST 800-53; strong communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Deploy, triage, debug, and maintain production databases (Elasticsearch, Redis).
Design and support config management across air-gapped networks.
Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
Contribute to monitoring and proactive notifications.
Produce engineering docs, diagrams, and models.
Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, and issue triage.
