Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking an ECG Technologist to join the Cardiovascular Center. You will perform ECGs, Holter monitoring, data management, and assist in the stress lab. You will be the superuser for the ECG management system and help physicians read ECGs online.

The role requires knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias, three years of EKG experience, BLS, and strong English communication. Travel between health-system locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
• Must have a certificate of completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia class
• Must be willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed.
• Minimum three years of EKG experience in the acute care setting
• Knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias
• Experience in recognition of arrhythmia
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Reports to the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Center. Under general supervision performs ECGs, Holter monitors and data management. Must have a knowledge of complex cardiac arrythmias. Is required to possess technical knowledge and clinical expertise to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitor testing and data management. As the ECG technologist, is responsible for assisting in the stress lab and set up TEE when needed. Is the superuser for the ECG management system data base, processes and teaching the physicians to read ECGs online. Is expected to display professional conduct at all times in their interactions with other staff members, patients and visitors. Self-motivation, ability to work independently and versatility are strong prerequisite characteristics for this position.
