Job summary

Quaker Houghton seeks an experienced EHS leader to join our UK team, coordinating safety across multiple sites from a remote base with regular UK travel. You will drive continuous improvement, support EHS programs, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

This senior role requires strong auditing, risk assessment, and training capabilities, with responsibility for monitoring performance and guiding incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within industrial settings.
• Experience supporting multiple sites or locations.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and chemical risk assessments.
• Experience maintaining ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Industry knowledge in chemical or fluids industries is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Professional NEBOSH qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead EHS technical expert across UK scope, driving safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Implement and enhance EHS programs, policies, and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and hazard observations with robust CAPA.
• Monitor EHS performance, trends, leading indicators and lessons learned.
• Assist in the implementation and use of EHS management systems and reporting tools.
• Provide guidance on occupational health, industrial hygiene and exposure management.
• Maintain ISO 14001/45001 compliance across sites and audits.
• Deliver EHS training and competency programs for staff and managers.
• Conduct risk assessments including JSA, chemical, PPE and HAZOPs.
• Perform EHS audits and inspections across multiple locations and close actions.
• Build relationships with customers, site leaders and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on UK/EU EHS legislation and best practices.
