Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our Corona, CA team. You will design, implement, and maintain EHS programs, support regulatory compliance, and lead incident investigations to protect people and the environment.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, extensive OSHA knowledge, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to guide cross-site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and OSHA
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains EHS programs, procedures, and systems to support regulatory compliance across the division.
• Provides EHS guidance and best practices to functional teams and site leadership to support compliance and risk mitigation.
• Serves as a resource for employees by addressing EHS concerns and reinforcing safe work practices.
• Establishes standardized EHS training programs that support employees at all levels.
• Standardizes inspection programs focused on identifying and eliminating safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Develops and maintains EHS data retention procedures across the organization.
• Leads investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifies root causes, and drives corrective actions.
• Oversees hazardous waste management programs.
• Supports external EHS audits and assessments.
• Manages third-party EHS reporting requirements, ensuring accurate documentation and submissions.

You will enhance organization-wide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) performance by developing and sustaining programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen safe work practices. Working across teams and sites, you will guide EHS standards, support incident response, streamline training, and advance initiatives that help protect employees and the environment.

Schedule

• This position follows a schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of related experience.
