Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental professional in Chicago Heights, IL to provide direction, leadership, and training to improve HSE performance. The role ensures compliance with company, local, state, and federal rules and acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities include developing and auditing policies, implementing training, supporting environmental programs, managing workers' compensation, and aiding RCA investigations.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in a health and safety role at a manufacturing location, preferably chemical or food industry
• Working knowledge of OSHA and USEPA regulatory matters covering industrial chemical process operations

Responsibilities

• Provide Health, Safety and Environmental direction, leadership, and training to improve HSE performance
• Support compliance programs, procedures, and policies and liaise with regulatory agencies as needed
• Develop, write, implement, audit, and maintain policies and procedures in compliance with applicable rules
• Conduct site safety training, fire prevention, and safe handling of chemicals and equipment
• Lead weekly safety meetings and coordinate EHS training communications
• Assist RCA investigations and drive corrective actions to closure
• Support environmental programs and Workers' Compensation management
• Assist with PSM practices (Employee Participation, Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Review)
• Perform routine job skills analysis and task assessments
• Commit to safety; some evenings or weekend work may be required
