Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior-Level EHS Compliance Engineer/Specialist to manage and execute multi-media EHS permitting and compliance projects across diverse sectors from Alpharetta, GA. You’ll build strong client relationships, lead project teams, and deliver high-quality deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget.

The role requires 10+ years in EHS permitting and compliance, a PE in the applicable state is a plus, and willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the applicable practicing state is a plus.
• Approximately 10+ years of EHS permitting and compliance experience with 1+ year of project management.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior-Level EHS Compliance Engineer/Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily manage and complete projects to assist clients related to multi-media EHS compliance. The successful candidate will manage client relationships, identify and respond to project opportunities, and lead execution of EHS permitting and compliance projects in accordance with state and federal regulations for a wide variety of clients. Sectors Stantec serves include power & utilities, renewable energy, oil & gas, food & agriculture, higher education, manufacturing, metals & mining, real estate, and transportation.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

• Lead projects and project teams to deliver work in alignment with client scope, schedule, budget, and profitability objectives.

• Oversee and contribute to the preparation of project deliverables.

• Prepare proposals outlining project scope, schedule, and budget estimates.

• Coordinate and direct project teams supporting a diverse range of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) permitting and compliance initiatives.

• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of project deliverables.

• Lead the development and implementation of permitting and compliance strategies.

• Advise clients on monitoring, planning, training, testing, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements.

• Mentor team members and support their professional development and training.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proven demonstration of applying principles of engineering to evaluate industrial and commercial equipment designs at facilities for permitting and compliance solutions.

• Able to develop proposals and manage change related to scope, schedule, and budget for projects.

• Demonstrated knowledge of air quality environmental regulations and requirements, including Title V and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permitting under New Source Review (NSR) is desired.

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software platform, specifically Microsoft Excel.

• Able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.

• Able to travel regionally and as needed, have overnight trips.

• Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the applicable practicing state, a plus.

• Approximately 10 or more years of EHS permitting and compliance experience and 1 or more years of project management experience.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
